Abstract
Description
Internet governance (IG) already poses a diplomatic challenge. Swiss digital assets owned by citizens and companies are being increasingly hosted on digital clouds abroad and subjected to foreign laws. Cybersecurity threats know no frontiers. Existing institutions are not robust enough to handle major economic and geo-political tensions triggered by the explosive growth of the digital sphere. To address these pressing issues, Switzerland should increase its efforts to attain legitimate, transparent, multistakeholder, and efficient global IG. This report provides evidence and recommendations for enhancing digital dimensions in Switzerland foreign policy and multilateral agenda.
