Abstract
Description
Over the last years AI has emerged as a hot topic with regard to its impact on our political, social, and economic lives. The impact of AI on international and diplomatic relations has also been widely acknowledged and discussed. However, at this point in the discussion, we need to carefully navigate between hype around AI and a dystopian vision of the technology. It is equally important that the discussion on AI moves from general observations to specific examples and applications. This report takes these discussions forward in a productive way. More specifically, this report focuses on the practice of mediation, understood as ‘the active search for a negotiated settlement to an international or intrastate conflict by an impartial third party’.
